POST-COMPLETION SERVICES

Legal and Administrative Formalities After Completion

Our legal assistance in property transactions continues after the signing of the title deed before the Notary.
Vilas Lawyers handles the post-completion formalities required to complete the transaction, including the settlement and filing of the applicable property taxes, such as Transfer Tax (ITP) or, where applicable, VAT and Stamp Duty (AJD), and the presentation and registration of the title deed with the Land Registry.
We also assist with the administrative formalities arising from the change of ownership, including the transfer of utility contracts and the updating of ownership and bank direct debit details for municipal property taxes and charges, such as Property Tax (IBI) and waste collection charges.
Our aim is to ensure that all necessary formalities following completion are properly dealt with until the transaction is fully concluded.

Vilas Lawyers provides legal advice and assistance in relation to Spanish wills and inheritance matters, particularly for international clients who own property or other assets in Spain.
We advise foreign property owners on the preparation and execution of a Spanish will and coordinate its execution before the Notary.
We also assist and represent heirs throughout the inheritance process in Spain, including the acceptance and adjudication of the inheritance, execution of the corresponding notarial deed, settlement of the applicable formalities and registration of inherited property with the Land Registry.
